    Probably his health.

The guy drinks like a fish, smokes like a chimney, and gets about 3 hours of sleep a night. He's not as young as he used to be, either.

Geez, I thought the first chapters of Mutou Black reminded me of Rurouni Kenshin, with the most recent chapter it got even worse.
    Spoiler:
Killer past, dark persona, cheerful and pacifist present persona to mask his past, etc.

    laaaaaaaame

On the positive note, the Ukiyo-e wannabe Samurai is back. Smartphones in Edo period wtf.

Bench being published in WSJ in english is confirmed, yeah

Aw man, Mutou Black is getting even *more* like RuroKen? Such a shame for a promising artist to be such a derivative writer.

Oh and I'm pretty up for more of that weird Ukiyo-e comic. I wonder if it'll pop up enough to become like Saiki, with a volume 0 of one-shot material and junk.

    Oh!....Bench in WSJ alpha..

i wonder why the editor of Mutou Black letting his mangaka taking such obvious path..Ruroken is well read and readers can easily identify something alike...

Excuse my ignorance but, bench? I don't think I've heard that series mentioned a lot around here

I'm going out a limb here, but I'll guess that it's the baseball manga.

On Mutou Black: Who's to say it's not the editor's suggestions that are making it move closer to being a carbon copy of RuroKen? Or even if the editor is hands off or ignored, and the creator's just doing what he prefers? Annoyingly we'll never know if there's anything like that going on in the background

Bench is a one-shot from 2010, back when they had Kintoki by Akira Toriyama, Succeed by Osamu Akimoto, and Bankara(?) from Hideaki Sorachi. Oh and the first version of Moon Walker Ltd. from Takeshi Konomi. it was all about having legends of jump show new work, or in Kishi's case, really old work retooled by his modern creative mind, much like he did with Mario recently.

Wasn't there supposed to be some info detailing Kubos extended break? Or is "preparation for the finale" all we got?

    Just preparation for the finale.

You can't rush a lazy sloppy mess after all.
