you know, I said that myself at the end of the flask plan arc. Then kumagawa happened.

And I said it again at the end of the Minus arc, then anshin'in happened.

and I've continued to say it at the end of every arc since. Medaka Box continues to survive despite low ranking and mediocre sales and an unpopular anime and nowhere to go, storywise. One might almost say it's abnormal.

Nisio Isin can troll anything, even the rankings.

Not really, Kumagawa was foreshadowed since chapter 30 or so, as the man that Medaka couldn't convert, Anshin'in was the "crimen" of Kumagawa, after her was that the series could have ended confortably (and probably was one of the plans), we are now closing into another possible ending, with the most skillfull character out of the picture, the mastermind (Aizen done right, meaning completely despicable and so "All acording to plan" stupid) and the one with enough brute strenght to ignore anything (Post hax reveal Kempachi done right), the biggest losser part of the party, and the protagonists already a couple, and the misterious ones already unmasked..

In order to continue, the series would need another extreme.

    So, to recap:
    Spoiler:

Biggest Mary Sue: Medaka, the forgettable Style user
Most average: Zenkichi (and the 5 successor candidates) (this one could be repeated, but now explicitely)
    Most misterious: Shiranui and Hanten'in
Most charismatic: The flask plan boss (even though it was by his powers, this one could be repeated)
Most Unnerving/Biggest Losser: Kumagawa (maybe as he abandoned them, these could be repeated)
Most forgetable: The president before Medaka
Most over the top with skills: Anashin'in
Most over the top with strength/Most Fresh: Iihiko
Most over the top with pervertedness/mastermind/"I don't care" actitude: the professor
    Most "Love": Medaka's dad
    Most "Drive": Medaka's mom

True. But how can you continue the manga after the defeat of the freshest bad guy ever ?

Also, the end of the manga is not necessarily a bad news. I'm sure the duo will come back with a better manga.

It's just that with the defeat of Kumagawa and Anashin'in, there was a sense of climax and finality, that said "yeah, this could be the ending, and it would be ok, even if there are plot threads hanging" think Vegeta and Freezer. Iihiko with all his freshness and power doesn't have the emotional baggage or "climax" feeling with him that would allow him to be an apropiate end boss, think Majin Buu.

I don't want the manga to end and get axed but if it ended it wouldn't be terrible because the world and the characters were at least fleshed out.

Well, A Weekly Shonen Jump podcast, I would have loved to get the idea, and do one untelegible episode with my terrible english pronuntiation and then abandon it, but It would have been cool.

Envy out of the way, cheek it out http://friendshipeffortvictory.wordpress.com/

Mostly rehash of things that we have disscussed in this thread and every particular manga thread, it would be interesting if he keeps going, specialy as he tackles some of the more obscure and short series, or the ones that don't get much atention here.

Is Rollo T (from Weekly Manga recap http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/pod...ly-manga-recap) still a arlong park user? I think that this guy should join the TGWTG team or the One Piece Podcast network for extra exposure.

--- Update From New Post Merge ---

I particulary liked his comments on Buso Renkin, as it paints the author in a very positive light, contrary to my expectation of a series who was canned by chapter 200 of a previously successfull author.

I actually own all 10 volumes of Buso Renkin and I can vouch that it's actually a pretty good manga (though I read it about 4 or 5 years ago and haven't reread it since). It's nothing spectacular, but it's a fun and easy read. If all Jump titles were of at least this quality I'd have no complaints.

Oh, and Papillon is one of the coolest overlooked characters ever.

Aparently there was a falling out between shueshia and the spanish editorial that published Kenshin and Saint Seiya kanzenban (plus other shueshia titles that I don't care) and Shueshia took back (I think that decided to not renovate) the licenses of all it's series, many series are now orphans, while the juicy titles were taken quickly by the competitors that already publish other series.

--- Update From New Post Merge ---

For anyone interested, or just for me to find the list and the post easier next time, the 5 big publishers of manga of spain are:

http://www.edicionesglenat.es/ Now known as Glenat, but about to turn into EDT, the one that lost the licenses, they still have Berserk, Ranma, and other stuff that might help them survive, not that I care about them, but the quality and polush gone into their Kanzenban proves that they do a good job
http://www.normaeditorial.com/index.asp Norma, I own FMA and Hellsing, pretty good quality.
http://www.paninicomics.es/web/guest/manga/colecciones Panini, other than HxH I don't care about their collection, they focus too much in
http://www.editorialivrea.com/ESP/home.htm Ivrea, Medaka and Slam Dunk (Kanzenban)
http://www.planetadelibros.com/colec...MI5500020.html Last but not least, Planeta, who has the biggest collection, and the biggest titles, as they just adquired Naruto and Saint Seiya (very important manga to any spanish speaker) and they had One Piece, Dragon Ball and Toriko. They change the logos of the series on whims, One Piece covers are awful, and the less popular series get "Hiatus"

Tobikage, cheif of "Leap and NOT hide" clan. Only values the fittest.
He likes to say "your deadline is in a week", hates to hear "No please, wait!".

In other words Kishi and Kubo sees the Jump mascot as Jump editorial lol

Why spanish Panini don't have One Piece? This is so messed up since brazilian Panini is already up to volume 41 and we are getting all SBS.

Acording to my research (meaning, all the info that I could get out of AnimeNewsNetwork) Licencing is HELL. Portugese One Piece is Panini's, but French One Piece is Glenat, who is a monster in the ammount of manga they have, and even though they changed the logo, theirs doesn't look like shit: http://www.glenatmanga.com/one-piece...2723493062.htm

I have yet to investigate the Argentina version, that is the most likely one that I'll buy, if I ever get the will to own OP tankouban instead of Kanzenban.

Water Margin/Bandits of the marsh is a story that goes back a few hundred years, Suikoden just happens to be a game loosely based around the premise. The band of 108 is one of the four great novels of china (The others being Three Kingdoms, Journey to the West/Monkey King, and Dream of the Red Chamber.. which doesn't have a video game or anime so it gets overlooked stateside.

And there actually have been Suikoden game manga... but as far as I know, only the adaptation for part 3 made it stateside. It was pretty good.
