The solution they found about long running series getting canned prematurely, is to have their last effort extended on their seasonal magazine, or entirely move them to their monthly mags.
I believe the first example of the former was Busou Renkin. Prince of Tennis and ToLOVEru would fit the latter.

Jump's methods have been slowly improving over the years.

Toriko, (HxH if it comes out of hiatus?) Um....can't think of others along that genre. Unless you just mean out of the whole magazine.

Goblin knight and inpwear look interesting. Do golden cup entries have a chance at serialization?

Yes, of course. That's the whole point of Golden Future Cup actually.
It's basically the testing waters for new aspiring artists.

For example, both Nurarihyon and Beelzebub started after winning the top place with 07 and 08 GFC.

The winner for 2011 GFC was Takamagahara, and Goblin Knight was the winner for 2012.

I think the winner last year was Hungry Joker? And there was also Hanasaka Ikkyuu in 2010, but unfortunately just spanned for 17 weeks.

Oops, you're right, I was looking at the order of publishing... my mistake.
    I was looking at two charts, and for some reason when I scrolled down to '10 and on I had scrolled to the next chart. -_-;
Takamagahara won the serialization though, lol.

    2007 - Nurari
    2008 - Beelzebub
    2009 - Metallica Metallca
    2010 - Hanasaka Ikkyu
    2011 - Hungry Joker

2012 isn't decided yet. So far from what I read, the first one (Goblin Knight) was the best one.
That last one with yankee sukeban idol singer wannabe was pretty mediocre.

Yeah, I was kind of surprised that Takamagahara got serialized first, if ever HJ will get serialized later. HJ oneshot was pretty good. Maybe the author isn't ready for serialization yet.

It's cool, Takamagahara will probably be cancelled pretty soon :)
And MinerXMiner won that prize a few years back? That manga was not only a super ripoff, it was really bad.

    What is Takamagahara anyway ?

Also MM wasn't that bad, just pointless and took way too long to have stuff happen.

Ahh, I remember Metallica. It was actually a pretty creative use of metals from what I re-call... did take way to long to have anything happen though. I remember disagreeing with the whole HxH ripoff. I've noticed lately though, a lot of jump authors seem to have cool premises and just can't deliver, or build anything from it. I remember enjoying both Stars and Lock On for their original premise, and then... they did nothing with them.

    And yeah... what WAS Takamagahara?

It's being run in Alpha, as well; it's about this boy from a family of martial artist brothers who just wants to be a manga artist, but apparently is one of many who has inherited the power of the gods. I've only read the first couple chapters, but it hasn't really captivated me much, and the art style is definitely not my cup of tea.

I've read most of Takamagahara so far. Other then what is outlined above, the premise is that everyone in the world has one special power but most people don't know it. These are very much like stands from Jojo, fruits from One Piece, swords from Bleach, etc, it's not a very creative concept so far. To top it off it takes place in a non-creative school setting with some pretty boring characters. Also the art isn't very good.

Honestly the only thing I've enjoyed about the manga is the main character's family. They are pretty funny. But yeah this one is almost certainly getting canned.
