Assassination Classroom took the third place for its first ranking. A rare achievement for a new series. Although, earlier this year Haikyuu!! ranked third for its first time as well. And what do you know, right now it's a decently popular new series.

    So yeah, booya for now.

    Oh wow. Viz chose poorly.
I know Takamagahara isn't ranked yet, but considering Assassination Classroom managed to get third place on its first ranking, this at least ensures a long run.
Also, I don't see Bulge/Barrage lasting much longer. A shame.
If only Viz realized there are other types of Shonen outside of action and god damn Yu-Gi-Oh.

High first ranking is a positive sign for a new manga, but it doesn't ensure anything especially in the long run.

Double Arts ranked in top 5 for its first five weeks. Bakuman started at 11th place and couldn't break into top 5 for its first few months.

    I see.
Well, we'll see what happens when the first volumes are released. If Barrage manages to sell really well, it'll stick around like Nura did despite the low rankings.

I highly doubt it. Nura, unlike Bulge, has gotten quite a decent reception when it was still starting and fared well in the rankings. Nura just gradually sunk until it was cancelled.

Even if Bulge's firs volume will sell well, it doesn't mean it will be safe. It's still new, JUMP won't probably care to cancel it like what they did to Ane Doki. If I'm not mistaken, Ane Doki's first volume sold really really well (More or less a hundred k) but that didn't save it from being chopped down, since it quite struggled to fare in the TOC.

And it's not like Bulge is something different than most of the manga already in the magazine.

Takama isn't even ranked yet and it's being put in the bottom 5. That's hilarious.

Barrage no. Stop being under Pajama na Kanojo this instant.

I have no idea how Assassination Classroom is in third and Bulge is in last. AC is certainly more creative in concept, I guess, but its execution is pretty standard thus far.

Poor Barrage. Hopefully it's first volume does well.

And go Assassination Classroom. Hopefully it'll make it's way to Alpha soon.

I'm going to guess that it's more Neuro vs Okamadouji.

But it's based on that first chapter though, which was very creative and executed well giving out an interesting premise for the future.

Other than the twist in the first chapter in Bulge, everything else was pretty standard.

I don't think Bleach is ranked this week with it being absent.

Fair point. Didn't really think that one through.

    Which is normal for me.

Ah!...Bulge not doing so well again :S...and the story is getting interesting now too.

Does "The YOURSELF, LOYD LLOYD" have something to do with this? XD

Oh right, Kubo was sick and didn't get a chapter right? Or am I mixing up another week?
Saved from being in the bottom 5, luck to you Bleach!

No, Bleach start in double issue 36-37 of 2001, so it doesn't have exact birth date, but its around the Obon Golden Week.
And too bad on this year Obon Double Issue Bleach suddenly went Absent
