I don't care about Nura and loathe Madaka, yet I don't see either of the two going anywhere.

That doesn't mean anything.
Do you remember Busou Renkin? It got canned in WSJ first, THEN got an anime adaptation.
Because back then the WSJ's retarded "poll is everything" mentality decided to can it, despite selling decently well.

Anyways, WSJ editorial has gone through some changes since then (Partially thanks to the phenomenal popularity of Death Note), and they value volume sales a lot more now than they used to.
Due to that, as long as Nura and Medaka continue to do ok in sales, its ranking won't matter as much.

Hunter x Hunter has returned in issue #34 or #35. Sengoku Armors got cancelled in #31, Hanasaka Ikkyu - in #38. Meanwhile, three other series started in #30, #31 and #39. Right now Weekly Shonen Jump has 20 series published in it.

I see, so the no. of series/ issue is more flexible rather than fixed. Good to hear that.

Thanks for the info.
I was banned from HxH thread b/c Robby disagrees with my opinion.

Okay guys, serious question because I still don't understand how this ranking can change anything if we take a high profile series. So is there any realistic chance that HxH will get canceled eventually if it says in the lowest part of the ranks?

The rankings don't do much to a successful series. So no.

Bottom 5
Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa
Nurarihyon no Mago
Kochikame
Enigma

ST&RS was most likely cancelled this issue.

Is that ranking for Naruto the one for the chapter where Sasuke shows off his new Haxagan?

Gintama is fifth and Sket Dance is third. Great. Hunter x Hunter and ST&RS are actually rising. Goddamn great.

All happy form seeing these, you finally notice that Naruto is first, Bleach fourth, Reborn sixth and Beelzebub in bottom five.

And then you sigh.

Don't be so happy about HXH's ranking this week. I checked out the rankings for the last 11 chapters AND the chapters before the hiatus, and HXH always ranks either in the bottom 5 (6 times 3rd to last, three times 4th to last and six times it ranked 5th to last), a few times it ranked 9th and 10th, as well as 11th and 13th (once for each).

I kind of know that. It's just pleasant to see it rank higher. Even if it has no relevance whatsoever to the well-being of the manga.

Same goes for One Piece.

Depends if there are other new series that are lined-up. So far it's a battle between ST&RS and Enigma (with the possibility of Kagami and/or Kurogane joining).

For those interested, Nisekoi one-shot can be read here.
