Want further proof that people love this series? "Addict" reached #3 on the iTunes Dance chart. It's currently #4. And the music video has over 10 million views.

    SOMEONE PICK THIS UP ALREADY.

Here's the trailer for the new Adult Swim animated series, YOLO: Crystal Fantasy. I seen the pilot episode a couple months ago, and it's pretty good. I can't wait for the series to start airing.

Of note, the show is made by Michael Cusack. You know, that Michael Cusack:

Comedy Central is going to reboot Ren and Stimpy. I just hope Viacom learned their lesson from last time. Don't have John K involved with the show.

Apparently John K isn't involved with or profiting from this show, so you can enjoy it guilt-free.

Still, Comedy Central doesn't exactly have a good track record with animated shows and reboots of animated shows (which is just Futurama so far, but the new Beavis and Butthead, and Daria retool remain to be seen).

Pass. Ren & Stimpy was lightning in a bottle that where part of why it worked was because of how different it was from what came before it, and now a lot of shows have since copied much of that. It didn’t work well without John K, it turned out awful when he came back to it later on (and in a similar environment as this), and he’s a pedophile, which is a bigger dealbreaker, so even though he’s not involved, it’s still going to get him attention he doesn’t deserve. Greenlight something original.

I'm pro more new works instead of endlessly rebooting IP, specially an IP of scum like John K.

That part is a myth that he spread after he was fired four episodes into the second season. The show got made despite him, since he was terrible to work with in every way. It was the rest of the staff on the show that made it what it was, and that is evidenced by how bad every John K thing has been after Ren & Stimpy. The best episodes of the show happened after John K was fired. Even if he has a credit on it, that's more like a saying there was a deadweight chained to that ep's production.

I agree, though, that Ren & Stimpy was dated and this reboot is a weak cash grab that's just giving one of the shittiest people in animation attention. It sucks knowing how many incredible pilots don't get greenlit, but this gets rushed to production.

Tbf Disney's had some really solid tv programming with female leads and I don't think producing more cartoons that engage women is a bad idea on its own. The real issue is their marketing team putting so much emphasis on gendered demos, having backwards ideas of what those demos would and wouldn't like and then making decisions based off those those backwards ideas.

On the note of shows that were passed up while R&S got greenlit, Elizabeth Ito was posting a couple months ago about how her wonderful pilot got passed on, despite having millions of views and a greater viewership and reception than the shows that did get greenlit.

That's my point, Star ended up Ok and Amphibia and Owl House are pretty great, the problem is trying to hard to gender code things. "This is too much adventurous, that's not a thing girls would enjoy" Bull.
I still think that, despite the huge success of highly plot focus series, TV networks still want to air programs that can be aired out of order with out any loss.
