I am leftist, both socially and economically.

I vote for the Dutch Labour party.

I am also saddened about the upcoming right wing government, with an extremist right-wing cherry on top. As a country known for its social tolerance, it's a shame stuff like this happens.

I am fairly far to the left, but often vote for either the labour part(used to be far left but now centre left) or the conservative party(has drifted to the left recently and now occupies centre right).

Labour party couldn't organise the economy to save it's life and the tories(conservatives) basically screw the public services so it's basically been a case of having to switch between the two.

Now there's a conservative - liberal(further left then labour) alliance and the vain hope that we'll get the best of both worlds, but it'll probably be the worst.

As for economics. There really shouldn't be a debate of what to do.
Since we're Keynesian economics, what to do should be obvious depending on the phase of the business cycle. True, that's just the root of a larger problem, but it's the best place to start when dealing with the economy.
Considering Keynesian theory is near extinction outside of it's academic and government preserves there is a roiling debate on economics. The school itself self destructed with it's inability to predict and cope with the stagflation of the 1970's.

I guess my views on race, gender, and Gay Rights are all "Liberal", while I'm an economic conservative, support the death penalty (for major things), and dislike severe gun control.

All in all, I'm a moderate Conservative, and (conservatives will hate me for this) I'm actually pro-choice. Go figure.

The Arizona law, which most of you probably disagree with, is actually something I support, though. It's just the US immigration law, but reiterated in the state law. Of course, the racial profiling thing is something I'll have to wait and look for. If policemen go crazy with this bill, my opinion may take a 180. It's not the law. It's how it's enforced.

Socialist? What the? You mean that socialism initiated by Marx?

I don't know anything about that test other than the questions. Nor what exactly they consider a socialist.

Yeah. I guess my the dark idealistic corners of my mind manifested themselves in that quiz, haha.

The fact that they put Obama as a socialist worries me about their overall knowledge of political ideologies.

I am no expert in America's politics, but according to this, 55% Americans think Obama is a socialist.
I think I like Obama but then again I am not an American so I am not sure if I know enough about him or how he would affect my life as an American.

@Sea: Personally, I'm not a fan of his administration, but I don't think he's a bad president. I hate Emanuel, given his past, but Obama's finally shutting him down. I think they panicked during the BP disaster, and didn't give Jindal what he needed right away, which he should've done; but putting Thad Allen in charge of the cleanup was a wise choice.

I wouldn't trust any poll done by Fox News.

Nor would I trust a poll by MSNBC or CNN. Gallup, Rasmussen, and several other websites are much better at giving fair information that Fox (lolz Democratz suck) or the other two (lolz Republicanz suck)

Eh, I was a little confused about what you referred to by "they". Sorry.
Then I agree that Obama is not a socialist.

How did you answer the question about famine being unavoidable BTW?

While MSNBC is rather biased and CNN slightly so, Fox News blows them out of the water in terms of political agenda bullshit. Hell, the title of that article alone should say more than enough about that.

But yeah, independent groups are preferred.
