Thread: what was your favourite one piece saga?(posibble spoilers)

I actually really liked Skypiea. It's practically the definition of romance, which is what One Piece is all about; a band of adventurers risking their lives just to GET to a land that no one has seen for 400 years, and they will almost certainly never be able to return to. And I also loved the emotion behind the ringing of the bell- what it meant to the Skypieans and the Shandians. Plus, compared to every other villain up to that point, Enel was the most psychotic, and threatening, frankly. Buggy, Kuro, Krieg and even Arlong were just petty criminals, Wapol was an asshole but he didn't actively kill everyone on Drum Island, and even Crocodile only wanted to create a "paradise," which yeah- might require parching and blowing up a few Alabastians. But Enel aimed to kill everyone, and was more than capable of doing it in a competent and non-bumbling way.

    On the other hand.......
CP9 is way more awesome (in my mind, I include Water 7 in CP9). We see Robin's mournful and dereshi-shi-shi-filled past unfold while following a conspiracy that leads all the way up to the most powerful group the Strawhats have ever faced; each one able to keep up with or surpass (at times) any of the Strawhats abilities. The settings were awesome, the fights were great, and the magnitude of everything was so very high (a rankyaku that slices the entire tower; a gate thousands of feet tall, the sheer power of Lucci; Monster Chopper; Zoans by the handful; Buster Call; etc.).

    CP9 gets my vote.

Enies Lobby was too drawn out and boring, which is why I went with Baroque Works. Other than Enies Lobby, Water 7 and the Sea Train were fucking epic.

You mean anime or manga, or both?

Anyway, I'm going for CP9 for obvious reasons.

Though I have a feeling that the Fishman island arc is gonna be the best yet.

Seriously, it has the most incredibly potential mix yet.

CP9 Saga was too serious and dramatic for my taste, though it introduced some very interesting characters to the series: Franky, T-Bone, Wanze, Blueno, Jyabura, Kumadori, Fukurou, Funkfreed and Spandam.

I dunno... Nothing topics Baroque Works in my flavor. For some reason, it feels more detailed than the later arcs(manga wise).

Wow, even though I mentioned my favorites, I completely forgot about Thriller Bark.

The second half was amazing. Probably one of my favorites, up with Arabasta and Water 7.

The pacing during the fights was wonderful. Pretty much the opposite of what I disliked in the Arlong fights. It's just that the way things were set up seemed more realistic and frantic. With fights blending into each other, and people actually waking up after getting knocked out. Plus all of the twists with Kuma, and of course Perona vs. Ussop and Absolom's awesomeness.

Yes... I can only imagine how great it would be to actually read that arch all together in an actual Volume format. =]

Note that there isn't a Thriller Bark option on the poll.

By that logic all of it is obviously part of the raftel arc since it all came up on their way to raftel.

It doesn't really tie neatly in to Fishman island (yet). At least not like the duvall arc (they need Hatchan to show them the way and get their ship coated by the coater).

If anything it is mostly tied to the CP9 saga since they (Kokoro) forshadowed it as they left W7. But most likely it should be considered a standalone or mini arc

Fishman Arch isn't part of the Fishman Saga at all.

That's just like saying that The Foxy Arch is part of the Water 7 Saga.

I can't tell if you are trying to be sarcastic or if you are crawling on the padded walls nuts Lobster.

    Fishman Arch? What arch?

Or assuming the h is a typo are you saying that the fishman island arc doesn't belong to the fishman island saga? Why? Wouldn't that be the defining arc of the saga?

^The poll isn't about Archs, it's about SAGAs.

    Saga's encompass many archs.

East Blue Saga = Alvida, Morgan, Buggy, Kuro, Baratie, Arlong, & the Logue Town Archs

    etc..
