Then as the Straw Hats are about to depart, Usopp runs up Luffy, apologizes to him, is invited once again, and officially becomes the third member of the Straw Hats.

BTW, what could that amazing thing Sogeking ends up doing be? Perhaps it could be something like saving Water 7 from a Buster Call and becoming the hero of the city. I think a Buster Call could happen if the third admiral ends up being this truly corrupt, and evil bastard - someone like Spandine - which is quite possible as the WG really hasn't had that central evil character at the top yet that we can put a face on, that would make us truly loathe the WG, enough to make everyone want to see it come toppling down. What I'm saying is we need more Spandine's at the top to balance the Garp's, Aokiji's, Smoker's and Sengoku's if Oda wants us to really hate the WG, and to root for Dragon and his revolutionaries in the end.
    A) We already have an admiral who believes in absolute justice, so it's very likely we'll also have a corrupt admiral as well so that all three are different.

    B) We don't know if Sengoku isn't what we might call evil yet, do we?

    C) It's possible Dragon isn't the guy we're supposed to be rooting for, by the end. >_>

I doubt Sengoku is evil. Whitebeard mentions him with a nostalgic tone, and we've seen Whitebeard puts great emphasis on morals. Sengoku probably isn't a bad guy, just a hard bastard and a professional soldier, obeying orders.

Kizaru being an overpowered Nezumi is a great idea though. As for Usopp/Sogeking doing something awesome: forget about it.

I wouldn't call Akainu evil, just misguided. He really believes in justice, but just goes about it in the wrong way. He's like a judge dredd, an anti-hero in a way.

No, but he doesn't look like someone who would be evil. I mean look at the way he's dressed, and at his pet goat! Plus he's mentioned in the same vein as Garp and Roger by Whitebeard during his talks with Shanks. Although they're not really concrete evidence one way or the other, all this leads me to believe that Sengoku has some good in him.

I think it's been firmly established in the story that a revolution is on the way, a new age, and that one of the casualties will be the WG. And to justify this eventuality, then yeah, Dragon needs to be seen as one of the good guys.

I wasn't saying Akainu is evil, I was saying he's for absolute justice, Aokiji is apparently more lenient, so the third guy (to balance the three) might be corrupt and evil.

I didn't say Sengoku was evil, I said we haven't really gotten enough insight into his character to make judgements. Although, to be honest, I had forgotten Whitebeard's comment. D'oh.

I don't know, I'm on the fence about whether or not we're supposed to, in the end, definitely root for Dragon. Maybe I'm thinking of the Darth Vader complex, though. Y'know. Main character has to fight his evil daddy who wants him to join his side. [No, that is not my theory concerning what is going to happen.]

I'm kind of surprised that each of the Strawhats don't seem to have their own thread if this thread needed to be made. There's a Vivi thread, so why not a Robin thread, a Usopp thread, a Luffy thread, etc.? I'm assuming it's been thought of and rejected (or exists and I didn't notice), likely having to do with them turning into bitchfests/unnecessarily huge or simply too many threads about such a wide range of possible subjects and could branch out into a ridiculous amount of other threads for each crew and more.

Well, it seemed like a good idea five minutes ago.

There's a Robin thread. And a Luffy one too. Actually if you search there must be tons of threads for every crewmembers, especially for Usopp who's a particularly popular subject of discussion here, between his unconditional fans and haters there's lots of potential. Potential for what? That's a good question.

Anyway it'd be embarassing, so let's go for the more embarassing solution.
Yep, I like that ending, and Now I'm going to hope like hell that it happens this way. Because all in all, that would be the coolest ending of the arc and the beginning of a new one. EVER.

Best idea yet. It let's the joke be on Chopper and Luffy for being so stupid.

But anyway, I think this is how it will happen..... ready??

(Once the ship is finished, but the Jolly Roger is not painted anywhere)

Everyone: "Oh no, it's not finished without the Jolly Roger!!" << Pretending, but within the earshot of Usopp so he hears
Sanji: "Who painted it the first time?!"
Nami: "Oh... that was Usopp! He had the skill to do it."
Luffy: "Hey, what's going on here? If we need it painted, I'll do it!!" << Not in on the setup
    Everybody: "Nooooo Luffy!!"
Usopp: ("You guys...!!") "Hey, baka, you can't draw worth crap! Let me do it."

Uhhh... OK so I don't know how it would work. But it might happen when they need to paint the Jolly Roger.

Though I agree with your point, I don't agree with your logic. Look at motivations:

    1. Monkey D. Garp- strong sense of justice.
    2. Monkey D. Dragon- strong sense of duty/equity.
    3. Monkey D. Luffy- pleasure seeker

As a pirate, Luffy's motivated by self-interest in full; he's as selfish as they come. Garp's on the other spectrum; he's as selfless as they come. Dragon is the mixed case; he's likely rebelling against the World Government because he learned something about it that pissed him off, so his motivations could be selfish; on the other hand, if he's rebelling on behalf of all the nations oppressed by the World Government, he's being selfless.

Lots of you are saying that Luffy will decline Sogeking's offer to join because he still considers Usopp a Straw Hat. That's bullcrap. Luffy knows that Usopp left the crew. He is not a Straw Hat.

Yeah, I don't think that Luffy "just letting Usopp on" will happen. They had that whole "honorable warrior duel" after all, and Luffy was serious about it. He really considers Usopp to haveleft the crew now.

Not that Luffy would be too hesitate to have Usopp back, but I think there's a responsibility to deal with first. Also, Sogeking will somehow play a role.
