Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

A good season overall. Clearly some frays around the edges because they are clearly focusing on ending the series, but a good season full of payoffs. Very much a Deathly Hallows part one, and I think...

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

True, but I've often found that fans are very, VERY quick to right off something they love the MOMENT it isn't catering to their specific ideas.

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

Wasn't attacking you personally there, just making an observation on fandom in general. Fans often are quick to turn on something they love. Hence, fickle.

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

    Ah fandom

They love something so much, but their loyalty is fucking paper thin. They'll turn on it so fast.

Of course, they'll jump back into bed when the series does one thing right.

    Fans...

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

This was a great episode, for someone like me, who enjoys them wrapping things up.

I love how a giant crossbow can't kill a dragon, but one Ice Zombie is like. "I GOT IT! HUH!" and one shots him.

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

My 2 cents on the "rushing" of this season.

I'm ok with it. We had 6 seasons if build up with these characters, slow burns in which we get to know them. Now we just need to get shit done.

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

They turned the teleportation up to 11 in this episode.

Still was a fucking great one though.

I love how Beric Dondarrion is that one guy who always wants to spout how "important" everything...

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

Simple. It's called "Picking your battles."

They could have gone closer to the books and kept recasting the actors to keep them the same age. Or instead they decide they have bigger fish to fry...

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

A good episode, clearly answered the complainers about skipping fights.

Great episode. Really enjoy that they've maxed out their teleportation skill.

A good episode, but very much a set up for the next six.

I reckon that next seasons big money shot will be the destruction of the wall.

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

This season had a good start, crappy middle and then stuck the landing. Boy did it stick the landing.

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

Great episode even if it played it quite safe. It is clear from this season that the show runners are concerned about ending the series and sticking the landing.

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

Another meh episode that was about moving pieces in place for future episodes, still decent television.

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

This was a meh episode. Not bad, not good, but not great. Very much in the vein of a One Piece bridge chapter in that we are moving characters into their positions for episodes down the line. Like...

Re: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)

So pretty much same destination, but different roads?

Makes sense, he's pulling the TV version of Full Metal Alchemist, just more intune the books ending.

Not a big fan of the series, waiting...

    Re: Game of Thrones

Finally took the time to watch the first season of this. I enjoyed it, but I wasn't falling head over heels like some people would tell me. Is Season 2 any better?
