Re: New One Piece Movie "Stampede" (August 2019)

Oooh Avex is releasing the soundtrack? That means it can actually be used in the anime?

e: no for real tho, good luck with this scene it's hands down the worst in the entire series.
  3. Re: Funimation DVD Discussion IV (Please Check First Post for FAQ)

Maybe they can get Marc Diraison to reprise his role.
  4. Re: 898: ''Headliner! Enter Hawkins the Magician''

The filler scenes where Luffy cut people with the sword just felt wrong.
  5. Re: One Piece Opening 22: "Over The Top" by Hiroshi Kitadani (7th July)

ah yes opening 3 my favorite spoiler opening.
  6. Re: One Piece Opening 22: "Over The Top" by Hiroshi Kitadani (7th July)

We Can was a Kishidan song featuring vocals by Kitadani. It's not fair to hold that against him.

    Re: One Pace

hold up ima slap a "to be continued" shot at the end of an opening and call it a One Pace filler arc.

Re: One Piece Anime To Enter Wano Arc In July 2019

Actially, that image explains a lot. If you want a thicker line, draw two lines close to each other.
  9. Re: Funimation DVD Discussion IV (Please Check First Post for FAQ)

Weekday airings are the whole reason DBZ took off in the US. Toei should be offering TV rights for dirt cheap in exchange for a weekday slot, it would be an extremely worthwhile investment for One...

Re: One Piece Anime To Enter Wano Arc In July 2019

You're the third person I've seen say the outlines are generated with a filter? Are they not drawn deliberately thick using a pressure sensitive stylus (or possibly a fountain pen)? Look at Robin's...

    Re: One Pace

Not really. It's much easier to cut out one long filler scene than the usual "second here, 5 seconds there" padding. And the meat of the Reverie scenes isn't that badly paced.
  12. Re: Funimation DVD Discussion IV (Please Check First Post for FAQ)

Yes, in 3D2Y and Episode of Sabo they reused a lot of voicework from Marineford.
  13. Re: 887: "An Explosive Situation - Luffy's Targeted by Two Emperors"

Realistically, the best case scenario is that they add completely non-intrusive filler episodes and scenes that we can fast-forward through, instead of padding out canon material with repetitive...
  14. Re: Funimation DVD Discussion IV (Please Check First Post for FAQ)

If Funimation was smart they would start a Wano simuldub IMMEDIATELY. I know they probably didn't have advanced warning that this was happening, but the artstyle change is going to generate massive...
  15. Re: What is happening? Why are the recent episodes 95% flashbacks?

It's also a convenient way for them to insert the more marketable and ratings generating Strawhat crew into these episodes.

    Re: One Pace

There's quite a bit of unreleased music throughout Whole Cake. Did you run into any trouble because of that? Scenes that you wished you could shorten and may return to later when you have the BGM?
  17. Re: Funimation DVD Discussion IV (Please Check First Post for FAQ)

While they're doing specials, I really hope they dub Episode of Luffy because that's the definitive version of Chapter 1.

When it comes to reusing audio, keep in mind that Funimation will sometime...
  18. Re: 886: ''The Holy Land In an Uproar - Princess Shirahoshi Targetted''

Speaking of which, they translated Miss Universe's amazing "Gold-dig-dig-dig" laugh as "My gold-digging self laughs". What a strange decision that clearly contradicts the voice track.
  19. Re: 886: ''The Holy Land In an Uproar - Princess Shirahoshi Targetted''

It used to say Second Gear / Third Gear, and the Funimation dub still uses that . The subs have no consistency.
  20. Re: 878: ''The World Is Shocked - A Fifth Emperor of the Sea Emerges!''

They just left the setup for a joke hanging 'till next week, no payoff for Luffy being sad about his bounty.

e: If every episode is going to be half recap filler, we're probably going to get cover...

  23. Re: 878: ''The World Is Shocked - A Fifth Emperor of the Sea Emerges!''

These flashbacks would be a great excuse to cram a full chapter into 10 minutes, but nah.
  24. Re: 878: ''The World Is Shocked - A Fifth Emperor of the Sea Emerges!''

We finally got uncensored versions of Luffy stabbing himself and Shanks' bloody arm, so that's nice.
  25. Re: 877: ''The Time of Farewell - Pudding's Last 'Request'''

I believe it was extended in the middle during Pudding's flashbacks. They looped the quiet glockenspiel part quite a few times more than is natural in service of adding more filler scenes.

Track 34 "Farewell" is especially nice and it features a reprise of one of the anime songs at 0:46 (Can't remember the name)

  28. Re: Funimation DVD Discussion IV (Please Check First Post for FAQ)

Interesting that they're just now deciding to go with accents from the country the arc is based on, since they didn't do that for Water 7, Montblanc Noland wasn't French, etc. Although they've done...
  29. Re: Funimation DVD Discussion IV (Please Check First Post for FAQ)

The official manga doesn't use honorifics, just sir, lord, etc.
  30. Re: Funimation DVD Discussion IV (Please Check First Post for FAQ)

I searched "Vic Mignogna" on Youtube and could not find a literal one result not defending Vic. Outrage sells I guess.
