Just got Oranguru now I just gotta figure out my 5th and 6th pokemon also got a Ledian, Ritombee, Snorlax in the storage if I decide to use one of them (Mainly want Sandshrew but know I won't get him til near end of game sadly) but currently I like my 4 that I am choosing to use
Done with the second island Water, Fire and Grass trials. Really fun totem battles. I mean, they aren't hard but they encourage to me make the most of of my chosen movesets. It's especially fun considering I don't use healing items in battles.
Another thing that adds a bit of challenge to these battles is them being no different if you had Shift or Set. Like, there's no free switches between knocking things out at all since the totems are basically buffed uncatchable wilds that would constantly call for help. The grass one was esperically interesting since it was calling things to cover its own weaknesses. Super cool! Can't wait to see how the other trails are like because I definitely like this approach over Gym Battles.
Been busy the past few days playing this game with foo, both of us are somewhere in the third island. BUT, more importantly, he just got me a Snow Warning Vulpix (male) and a Ditto, so I'm about to begin breeding those things like crazy. Also gonna be breeding them with Moonblast Popplios because why not.
So if anyone here is interested on a Snow Warning Vulpix with Moonblast, let me know. It's gonna be a long process though, so don't expect it soon as I will prioritize perfect ones for me and for him.
I kept Alola Diglett around long enough to see what Dugtrio would look like, and it seems so fake lol.

I had to look it up since I realised the cheerleading bird didn't seem to be learning any electric moves and sigh. I didn't realise it was part of some gimmick elemental family that all share the same movepool. Was really thinking it would learn Thunderpunch or something, but it's just a standard Baton Passer :T
Not mad about it. Baton passers are nice. But idk. I might switch her out when things get dull/need room for something else.
Third trial was so absurd it made me laugh.
Right before the 4th trial I received a Vulpix on wonder trade, but even with it and salandit on my team the trial was harder than anticipated; had to use the fire type Z-move on Lurantis.
I'm starting to like the SOS call mechanic, but when a new pokemon is summoned on the same turn I defeated the last help, it makes me want to shoot it
Just beat the fire trail. Next order of business: begin the agonizing hunt for a female Salandit, like everyone else.
Also, my Diglett evolved, but I'm considering dropping it since its defense is terrible.
I just hate when the extra Poke has a confuse status move. Their Supersonics have 100% accuracy :ninja:Quote:

2) Rising Star Mikey made me want to throw my 3DS into a dumpster. The dude kept spamming Roost, adding in Supersonic to throw me off. Eventually he ended up offing two of my pokemon
3) Grimer and Kangaskhan are still top tier, but poor Rockruff needs to evolve, because it can't take special hits to save its life and her HP is so low compared to everyone else.

On the fourth island, and I just caught the final member of my team, Hakamo-o, who is actually already a Kommo-o since you catch it so close to it's evolution level. This was also my first time actually trying to use the SOS system towards a goal, as I wanted to find one with Soundproof rather than Bulletproof, and keeping an ally chain going is definitely easier than Jangmo-o's low encounter rate. Amazingly though, I realized I had the perfect pokemon for this task specifically. My Ribombee knows both Bug Buzz and Pollen Puff, which Soundproof and Bulletproof are respectively immune to, so I could test to find the ability I wanted, as well as stall while waiting for a new ally to appear. And depending on it's level, the wild Hakamo-o usually only had Dragon Claw as an attacking move, leaving my Ribombee completely safe from being damaged. So that was an extreme amount of coincidence that worked in my favor.

The cute charm method does indeed work. Female Sandalit, get! Lucky for me the Igglybuff I captured had Cute Charm, otherwise I would have had to go looking for one, which would be a pain in the ass.
And not long after that, I got an Evee!! Sweet! Since there aren't a lot of Psychic types to choose from (at this point in the game, anyway), I think I'll go with an Espeon. Only thing now is to make Evee happy happy. I wish I had a way to measure it's happiness other than hearts.
Speaking of evolving, my Rockruff is one level from evolving, but to get Lycanroc in Moon you have to do it at night. But whenever I play I always seem to be in the daytime! Even when I'm playing super late at night. Anybody know how to get night time going?
Moon is 12 hours off your DS's internal clock so day is night and night is day. Just set your clock ahead 12 hours and that'll do it.Quote:

Happiness is achieved by using the Mon, avoiding fainting, healing it, using items on it and stuff, and its slow, measured by a lady in one town of the second island, where you find Olivia's store. There is also a mass.. Person who gives massages near the happiness checker.
